Squier By Fender Telecaster John Five J5 Telecaster Artist Signature John is a self-described “Fender fanatic” with a jaw-dropping collection of his favorite instrument, the Telecaster (“the greatest guitars ever built, by far, hands down,” he said). This latest edition from Squier is a double bound beauty based on his ever evolving, frequently modded work horse of a Telecaster pieced together by the folks at the one and only Fender Custom Shop. Features include his distinctive black and chrome look - an alder body finished in gloss black, 22 fret maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard and black painted head cap, a striking polished stainless steel pickguard and chrome hardware. Operate the custom designed humbucking pickups via a unique dual volume set up with the bridge pickup control in the front position and the neck pickup control in the back position – John prefers this set up as he spends a majority of time giving the bridge pickup a workout. In addition, via rapid movement of the three-way toggle switch between positions, that signature “kill” effect can be obtained by turning off the neck pickup volume and leaving the bridge control full up!
